Saturday, October 1, 2022 Hike Announcement

The River-to-River Trail Society announces its first public guided hike of the Fall 2022 hiking season, on Saturday Oct. 1st, in the Heron Pond Nature Preserve (Johnson County). This will be a wildlife hike and is free and open to the public. It will be a loop hike of moderate difficulty, approximately 7 miles in length, and 5 hours of hiking time. The hike leader will be Shawn Gossman who can be reached at (618) 694-7034 for more information. Hikers should meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Todd Fink Heron Pond Trailhead parking area. GPS 37.357358, – 88.913157 This hike is intended for people in good health who have done some walking. Hiking sticks and boots or sturdy shoes are recommended Bring your own bug spray and plan to carry it on the hike with you. Hikers should bring their own water and snack. No dogs please.
